Third in our Ryeclops series, our rye stout boasts a rich chocolate aroma mingled with rye spice. In every sip, flavours of dark chocolate grow mingled with a powerful crisp bitterness of pine and some liquorice. Creates a beautiful dark complex stout.

Opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry. modest carbonation. Soft dark malts, a little cream and traces or roast and rye tang. Bitterish dark fruits. Smooth finish reveals bitterish dark chocolate. Bitter linger. More of porter for me. Good one to barrel age I reckon.

Keg at Andrew Usher’s. Black body with no head or lacing. Aroma of caramel and wood. Flavour of black pepper, burnt caramel and stewed cranberries. Medium body with a smooth, silky mouthfeel. Light fizz. Tastes better than it smells. This is the only Weird Beard beer I’ve had to date that doesn’t look amazing.
