It is brewed using the complex flavours of Chalk Hills Rye bread. It’s a complex loaf with complex flavours of caraway seed and spice. On top of that, we add spent coffee grounds from Union Hand-Roasted Coffee served in the bakery shop. Doubly good for the fight against food waste! The beer is further enhanced by adding Union’sdelicate cold brew coffee during fermentation. Strong but with a chocolatey sweet side, this is a porter to savour.

18/7/2019. Can from Four Hops, Reigate. Pours maroon brown with a small beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, dark and plummy fruits, toffee and rye bread. Medium plus sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, oily slick texture, average carbonation. Nice brew.

Bottle from Surrey Wine Cellar, Chobham. Sweet and sour berry aroma. Opaque cola brown. Creamy beige head. Light bitter with a sour berry streak at first. There's a creaminess over the too. The rye comes through into the peppery finish. A slight medicinal hint int eh finish. Medium bodied. Creamy. Prickly carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Better than I was expecting - the coffee and rye work well.
