Our brand new citrus IPA is exploding with bright citrus aroma and flavor. Creating an exciting new variation on our flagship Loose Cannon, TropiCannon clocks in at the same 7.25%ABV as its cousin, but packs a full blast of blood orange, grapefruit, mango and lemon flavor. We’ve downplayed some of Loose Cannon’s piney-ness and amped up the citrus by swapping Centennial and Palisade hops for Amarillo and even more Simcoe. We’ve introduced dried grapefruit, orange and lemon peel in the brewing process and added mango, blood orange and more grapefruit post-fermentation.

Bottle: Clear, orange-amber with a thin, off-white head. Aroma of honeydew and mango. Taste is melon.....blood orange, pineapple, mango. Mild citrus-peel bitter. Incredibly juicy....a nicely different mix of flavours to a fruit-driven IPA..... Loved it.

Bottle from Kroger. Pours golden amber with a small off-white head. Smells like sugary fruit punch. Very artificial and candy-like. Taste is not really the smell... it’s quite different, not sweet, and kinda nasty. What the hell is this? I know Heavy Seas isn’t what it used to be when it was Clipper City but good god. This is awful. Flavors of envelope glue, fake candied fruit, orange, lime, and plenty of yuck. Could be a cheap lager with a dozen jolly ranchers dropped in the glass and left to dissolve for all I know.

12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Best by August 24, 2016. A little optimistic on that date. Clear golden orange with about a finger off-white head. Aromas of lots of tropical fruit, citrus, stone fruit, fruit candy chews. Tastes of lots of sweet and juicy tropical fruit, citrus, some floral notes to balance out the fruit. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Juicy mouthfeel. Probably one of the best "tropical style" IPAs I’ve had.
