Our India Pale Ale is a new take on this highly popularized style. Citrus is the obvious star. Over the backbone of bready malt and pine stickiness you will find notes of peaches, lemon zest, danky grassiness, pine needles, and tangerines. Each sip is followed by a dangerously drinkable amount of resinous glamour.

The one beer to drink before commencement of the Bourbon Trail in Louisville. I was served a 12 oz can at a really nice restaurant/bar just in front of our reservation at Bardstown Distillery. A decent yellow-gold liquid with a modest heard of completely white foam. I tasted a nice intro of hops and pine needles, malt, grapefruit and cut grass. Not a bad brew.

Tap. Not the best ipa around. With so many to choose from this is one I would leave alone.

Can from the Kay-Rogeh, drunk on the farm in Kentucky. Clear gold, big head, lightly dank-pine citrusy nose. Pretty nice balance, caramel heaviness countered by big bitterness that's relatively smooth. Grapefruit on the back end, tingling bitterness, yowza!

tap at brewpub in Nulu. Nice classic IPA - nothing wild, just steady and well made

Can from Mejer, Covington, KT. A really solid all rounding American IPA with piney west coast notes and good bitterness.

From a 12 oz can. Pours a clear copper with a thick off white head. Aromas of grapefruit and pine. Flavors are bitter citrus peel. Nice old school IPA.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is super piney and citrus. Flavor is the same fresh pine needles with some blood orange citrus. Not overly sweet which helps. As old school as it gets.

Another IPA reminding me of pre-craft boom IPAs, with lots of caramel and pine and yeast, offering up gentle hints of grapefruit and dank. Plain, but drinkable.

Draft pour at West Sixth NuLu, Louisville. Poured a classic IPA color - kind of orange amber with a small very off-white head. Aroma was big juicy notes. Big old-school notes. Liked the malt backing and fresh hops. Perhaps a touch more bitter than I normally like, but this was still quite good for a throwback beer.
