Clear dark yellow colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have elements of grapefruit and orange zest. Nice bitterness in the finish.

Can, 0.355l. Aroma is citrusy, herbal, resinous and biscuity. Pours clear golden color with medium sized soapy white head and sparkling appearance. Taste starts light to medium sweet grainy and herbal, following is citrusy, tropical and stone fruity with faint medicinal note, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is average bitter. “Brewed and canned around Australia” by Lion - either this is reducing a brewery to a brand and deploying it to undercut the nascent local industry or it’s giving us the opportunity to try this beer fresh. History says both at first but after a while all that’s left is the name. Clear gold with a loose white head. Aroma of vague citrus, pine, breadcrust. Some tinned peach. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Really quite sweet with peach and somewhat flabby malt. But the hops are nice enough with more pine than citrus towards the moderately bitter finish. It’s OK but I think it will struggle here despite its price.

16 oz can, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is full of old school resinous hops, pine, and lots of caramel malt. Flavour has a big chewy malt backbone that is semi-sweet, with bready malt, oily resinous hops, and some bitter pine. Very old school. Perhaps this isn't super fresh, but the hops are still fairly vibrant. Not the most invigorating hop character and there is some malt sweetness. Overall, pretty solid old school west coast IPA.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 29/12/20. Can't believe I haven't raked this juan ... most definitely had on tap in the states a few tims! Clear golden with a good sized just off white cap. Nose is ripe citric flesh, orange zest, light pine, melon, grass. Taste comprises melon, grass, pinch of hop spice, mango, orange pith, light grapefruit zest. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close kissed with balanced juicy come grassy hop bitterness. Decent enough IPA.
