In recent years, Roam, our rotating single-hop Pale Ale, has become a play space for trialing new and experimental hop varieties. At times the hops are far from market ready, scarcely grown and limited in availability - the variety in this batch of Roam is far from any of those things. For years now, Citra has reigned as the most widely grown hop in the country. But this batch of Roam is not about exploring an unfamiliar variety (we know Citra well) it’s about featuring a singular lot of the hop we hand selected last harvest season. Our entire (small) production team made the trip to Yakima, WA in search of the ideal examples of the core varieties used in our hop-forward beers and to us, this lot of Citra fit the bill. Grown by Cornerstone Ranches in Toppenish, WA, our selected Citra carries a certain density of flavor while remaining bright and zippy. Berry, watermelon and floral notes round out the usual citrus/tropical punch you’d expect of the hop.

Pours hazy pale yellow into a willi. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Tangerine and melon aromas. Soft with sweet melon, and mango upfront turning to tangerine in the dry, medium length finish.
