Kenth, a Swedish corn-based beer produced by Två Bryggare/Österlenbryggarna AB in Tomelilla, Skåne, Sweden. Launched in 2004, it was marketed as an innovative, easy-drinking beer made with genetically modified (GM) maize (specifically the MON 810 variety, engineered for pest resistance by Monsanto). The beer was named after the brewery's master brewer, Kenth Persson, and was positioned as a premium product with superior quality and taste due to the GM corn. However, it sparked significant backlash, particularly from environmental groups like Greenpeace, over health, environmental, and ethical concerns related to GMOs.

(Bottle 35 cl) A lot of fuss about this beer. And it looks as if the Greenpeace campaign succesfully has influenced my honourably, fellow ratebeerians opinions. Golden, hazy, thick head. Some sediment in the bottle. Unusual and rather odd acidity not unlike the brewery’s special and unpasteurized "Färsköl". Quite unusual but very fresh. 040904

Very pale yellow colour. Fluffy head. Weird sourish aroma. Very thin and watery with a sourish flavour. What the hell is this? Sour water?

A hazy orange beer with no head. The aroma is sour with notes of fish - how does this get into a beer? The flavor is sweet yet sour with notes of corn and wheat - a very boring flavor.
