On tap at boise CoOp. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is big roast malts rich chocolate malt oak berries lots of sweetness. Taste is more of the heavy roast malts chocolate sweetness wine barrel oak notes and a nice fruit touch. This is very nice.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Bourbon and light sweet aroma. Bourbon and light chocolate flavor. Medium bodied. Light chocolate and bourbon lingers with vanilla and light oak.

Draught at Ale Arsenal. Black with minimal brown head. This is very tasty off the bat, but it becomes cloying the more and more you drink. Very complex, with each of the maple, the smoked malt and the barrel showing off....but the maple ends up dominating. Hard to finish the glass.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma? Swear it smells a lot like chocolate glazed donate. Near full bodied. Flavor starts chocolate glazed donated, gets quickly to a surge of dark treacle, wood and whiskey. Bourbonish for sure. There is an alcohol flavor, but there’s no burn for me. One humongous ale.
