Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours "black" with a beige head. Aroma is dark smooth malt; hint of chocolate. Med body at least. Flavor is smooth, chocolaty malt - there’s an unusual flavor note in the finish - I’m liking to think it’s oat. Good stuff.

On tap at Toronado SF. Almost black with a small creamy tan head. Quite relaxed with roasted malt, licorice and coffee. Also some dried dark fruit. The finish was rather sweet. An ok one.

Draft. Rich mahogony beer with a low dark cream head. light roast and malt aroma with light oatmeal. Dark fruit and rich malt flavor. Medium bodied. Dark fruit and rich malt linger with light coffee.
