Sea Farmer hits the glass with a beautiful marriage between salinity, hoppy, and grapefruit; no one component overpowering the others. Citrus additions to Westcoast IPAs were once seen as cutting edge, then quicker than Usain Bolt trying to find a bathroom with the squirts, they became overdone, poorly made, and passé as all hell. But much like M. Night Shyamalan movies, just because a lot are a miss doesn't mean there aren't absolute bangers mixed in there too; and we think Sea Farmer is one of the latter. Crisp, bright, salty, grapefruity, hoppy, and soaked in the traditions of Westcoast IPA, Sea Farmer has everything we want in an IPA we plan on crushing in the summer heat.

Hops: El Dorado, Amarillo, Mosaic

Contains: Grapefruit, Sea Salt

On tap at City Beer, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out citrus hops, some dankness, light saltiness and dry biscuity malt. Flavour is loaded with salt, citrus hops, ample dankness and just enough dry biscuity malt to back. Nice incorporation of the salt makes this a unique IPA. Very good.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pour gold with a white head. Slightly hoppy aroma. Med body or better. Flavor has light salt, lots of hop - citrus zesty and some fruit notes. Hints at dank. A bit different (salted IPA?), but nice.

Old tasting notes from the summer. This was on tap at Gourmet Haus. Hazy with sustained white head. Grapefruit offers a very solid approach to this style, and gets it right where a lot of this style loses the plot and becomes puckering and undrinkable. Faint saltiness balances well with the citrus for a very pleasant and easy to drink beer. The ABV is completely hidden in this pleasurable beer.
