Dark. Bitter. Hoppy. What else do you need? Citrusy hops, spiciness from a touch of rye malt, and a little bit of a smooth chocolate character make this dark colored IPA shine.

Pint can pours with a nice deep dark colored body that supports a full tan head of foam. The aroma offers up grapefruit to tangelo like hoppiness as well as dark roasted malts and even a dark roasted coffee like sensation. The taste delivers moderately bitter grapefruit like hops as well as tangier tangelo to tangerine citrus notes. Competing with the hops are roasted to highly roasted maltiness from likely black patent. There's also a touch of earthiness and faint sweet malt like sensation. I love the dark roasted malts and the firm hoppy balance here.
