Cask at Pig's Ear 2017. It pours cloudy brown - black with a small off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, toasty, creamy, toffee, milk chocolate, shortbread, milky coffee and maltesers. The taste is slick, charred, roasty malt, chewy malt, earth, tannin, cacao nibs, coffee grounds and a touch of rawness with chocolate powder on the finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty flavoursome stuff.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours rich brown with a sturdy, frothy khaki head. Day-old coffee in the aroma, soft roast, cocoa, dried berries. Medium sweet flavour with mild milk chocolate, a little ash, restrained coffee bitterness, berries, raisins. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more milk chocolate, light roast, a little scorched earth, cherry, more raisins, burnt toffee. Quite drinkable, and with a nice bit of depth.
