Cascade and Columbus Hops present fresh pine and citrus characteristics, combined with the coffee and liquorice tones from our blend of roasted malts. For us, it’s all the things a Black IPA should be.

330 ml bottle from my Secret Summer Santa _angst_, thanks!
Dark brown to black body, with a big, dense, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of grapefruit, resin, pine, coffee, chocolate, caramel, some liquorice, some soap, slight ash.
Taste of coffee, dark chocolate, grapefruit, pine, grass, some liquorice, some tea, some soap.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes roasty-bitter, quite dry, zesty, with coffee, cocoa, liquorice, citric notes.
Very nice. Quite complex and multifarious, as a BIPA should be, but a bit light bodied. On the other hand quite easy to drink. Enjoyable BIPA, but not among the best I’ve had.

Bottle. It pours a dark brown body under a dense, finger-thick light beige head. The aroma is lightly roasted and burnt, with some coffee and bonfire. It’s fullbodied, smooth and with a nice carbonation. Piney, citrusy hops, resins and a nice hoppy bitterness in the flavor, as well as roasted and burnt malts. Lasting finish. A tad more on the malty side than I prefer, but sure a nice and tasteful one. 150711

Pours nice dark brown. Toasted brown-beige head. Nice lacings. Aroma is fruity, bit of fresh hops there. Taste is surprisingly hoppy, not only hop bitterness but also bitterness from the roast. Fruits and malt sweetness also there. Dry still. Very good and drinkable clean BIPA.

Dark brown color. Big roasted mouth with big hoppiness, but the nose is very subdued. Excellent mouthfeel. Nice big long roasty finish. Starts boring but finishes like a party.
