Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of brentfeesh. Pours a clear slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Extremely perfumy blueberry aroma. Thin body, very dry and perfumy blueberry accents. No hops - just blueberry perfume. 111009

On Tap at Atlanta airport. Poured a light golden color with a very small white head. Aroma is a mild, sweet one with touches of blueberries. Flavor is not bad, but a lot more mild than I had expected. Not bad at all - but not very good pared with any foods that I had eaten.

Bottle as shown. Pours a clear golden with a small white head that diminishes quickly to nothing. The aroma is a very sweet fruit with blueberry and light hop. Decent lacing along the glass. The taste is similar to the aroma with a strong blueberry and a tart finish. A good fruit beer if you like blueberries with it very present with this brew.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Suttree. Best if enjoyed by 10/14/08 stamped on bottle. Pour is clear golden with a one inch white head. Very still body, almost no carbonation bubbles. Aroma of blueberry pie, fresh ripe blueberry and sweet doughy yeastiness. Its actually quite remarkable how much this smells like pie. Taste is the blueberry, front and center. Again its blueberry pie, but there is also a chemical element that is not all that pleasant. Palate is medium, with a lingering blueberry aftertaste. Interesting and unique brew, though a bit one dimensional. Thanks for sending this my way, Phil!

Courtesy of Quake1028. Pours clear gold with thin bright white head. The aroma has big blueberry notes along with grainy wheat cereal and some faint soap. The taste starts fruity with blueberries but then becomes more like sugary berry extract syrup. There is also a mild berry tartness that moves toward a grainy wheat note. It becomes a little too sweet in the end. Might have a better reception on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Flowery blueberry aroma. Light golden yellow with little head. Light blueberry malt flavor - strong but not cloying - pleasant without becoming a sorority girl beer.

This pours out a huge white head over a light hazy yellow body. The berry aroma is present, but not over powering. Lightly sweet flavor with an acidic touch from the fruit. Very light bodied. Needs to be more assertive.

Slightly hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Smells of straight up blueberries...very potent! Medium-bodied; Strong blueberry flavour, a bit of malt and some sweetness. Aftertaste shows a strong sweetness with a bit of blueberries. Overll, pretty good! Much better than Blue Moon and a fruit-beer that went very well. I had this beer on draught at Summit's in Sandy Springs (Atlanta), Georgia on 25-September-2003.
