Sweetwater Blue is a unique lighter style ale enhanced with a hint of fresh blueberry. When you drink this beer take a good whiff first and you’ll smell the blueberry influence, but on the taste it’s extremely subtle and the finish is extra clean. Ain’t no fruit beer, but it is our breakfast beer, usually folks that are looking to quench their thirst or for those that are new to the “good beer” lifestyle; this is their choice. This brew and the ESB were the original two to go through the tanks at SweetWater in February 1997.

Smells like a blueberry muffin - tastes rather like a pale lager with a wheaty kick - indistinct pale malt character and a light hop crispness - a little yeast and semi-artificial blueberry flavor - somewhat clean finish, with lingering artificial sweetness - meh.

Draft. Golden with small white head. You get the blueberry on the nose. Flavour is malt but unlike the aroma the blueberry are barely there.

Blueberry and lavender bouquet. Clear yellow, medium head. Blueberry flavor, fair malt balance, perfumey in the finish. Tastes more like artficial flavoring than fresh blueberries.

on tap, pours light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is wonderful. Tons of fresh blueberry and muffin notes, doesn’t smell artificial. Flavor is thin and watery with pale malt, some metalic notes and a lightly sweet blueberry finish.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and a bit of citrus. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruit, malt, caramel, and a bit of metal, leading to a dry metallic finish.
