Can @ home, chugged straight from the can. Tastes like melon rind, straw, light juice, and a bit of tapioca. Surprisingly, not overly fruity or sweet. I’m not a huge fan but at least it’s not a watermelon-a-rita clone.

Basically a Corona with lime, though slightly less foul. Only a vague sense of watermelon. Pours golden with decent head. Slightly metallic finish. Bottle.

Bottle. Clear gold with a generous white head. Arom is more like an uncut melon than a cut one. Sweet and candy-like. The flavor is kind of strange. Some melon in there and who knows what else. Wet and refreshing in any case.

Poured from the tap. Slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal white head. Mildly sweet bread malt with hint of melon. Boring.

Pour is a clear red with a average white head. Aroma is almost nothing. I guess there is a melon there after it warms a bit but nothing is really coming out. Flavor is again pretty much nothing. Some sweetness which really isn’t a flavor but that’s all I get. This was a really poor offering from a decent brewer. I got no watermelon or lime and the best by date on the bottle was November so I know this was not old.

Clear gold pour with an off white head and good retention. Decent lacing. Crisp and clean mouthfeel. Kind of a strange mix. More lime lager taste than watermelon. Almost a salty taste. Okay.

Bottle from West Side. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam. Light grainy aromas, not really much nose at all, maybe some lime. Light watermelon on the palate. Light tartness and sweetness. Lingering watermelon. Definitely restrained fruit flavors, but still asking why?

I’m guessing all the fruit has faded (it is a summer beer, after all), but there’s really nothing to Heavy Melon. Toasty malts, very little hops, and damned if I can find the melon or the lime. Drinkable, but so are a lot of other, better warm-season beers.

Keg at Sedona Charlottesville, 4/18/16. Clear golden, large creamy white head, good retention. Aroma of pale malt, lemon, lime. The taste is strong juicy watermelon, mild bright lime, pale malt. Thin-medium bodied

Draught @ Malt & Mold. Clear rose gold with small frothy 0ff-white head, amazing watermelon aroma, medium carbonation, tastes a bit like lip balm with melon flavor, thin body, medium bitter finish. Not so impressed by the dominance of watermelon.
