Blondibock was first brewed as Bluesapalooza Blonde Bock in the summer of 2011, and was so popular that we brought her back in 2012. Brewed as a German-style Blonde Bock in March of this year, she was racked into Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels after two weeks in the fermentation vessels. There, this beer matured for three months picking up much of her color and flavor from the oak barrels.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento. Pours orange gold with a decent white head. Aroma is woody/bourbon/vanilla? Med plus body. Heat seems stronger than expected. It’s fairly thick and has malt. However there’s bourbon/vanilla all over this. Probably some noble hop, but hard to pick it out. Wow. Quite the experience for a non-dark beer. Works much better than some of the quirky BA stuff BrewDog has tried on other than IS. I wouldn’t object to this being referred to as Imperial Bock.
