Some beer styles feel underappreciated in their time.

This is a throwback to an era of hoppy US Golden Ales that all got us in to the hoppier jooose, to remind us that you don't need 'Hop Soup' to be absolutely refreshed and have a 'Big Wave' of flavour. Sadly many of these have since become reduced to a malty dull and bland supermarket drop, but we're bringing the aloha back to the fore with this Pacific Golden Ale, dry hopped with Bru-1, Citra, Galaxy, and Vic Secret, after a whirlpool of Citra and Mosaic.

Can bought at The Fossil Thief, Portsmouth. Foamy translucent white head. Clear gold. Aroma has citrus and a hint of resin over grainy malts. Tangy bitter citrus with added quinine. Underlying not particularly prominent malts. Light. Thin to slick. Average-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Punchy Gold but still not an overly interesting beer which is at least befitting for the style.

[August 2024] Very slightly hazy gold with a bubbly/frothy white head and citrus and a touch of pine on the nose. Light bodied, sweet citrus and hints of gooseberry perhaps, citrusy bitterness with just a touch of pine and a dry finish
