Keg @ Ancient Mariner, Lynmouth. Almost black with a thick smooth off-white head. Smooth tasting and crisp with a light tasting, light aroma stout, but a gritty tasting one.

Pours black as a night, topped with a medium sized creamy head, nicely lasting, beige in colour. Quite noticeable roasted malt aroma with some coffee and a bit of chocolate in the back. Taste is a bit bland - medium bitterness with just slight roastiness. Medium body, very sparkly. Not the best one, lacks something. Still drinkable.

Bottle at home, 15/05/16. Black with a well appointed tan head. Nose is lightly burnt sugar, liquorice, light roast, sticky dark fruit medley, light smoke. Taste comprises treacle toffee, toasted brown sugar, light smoke, roast malt, root liquorice, light peppery spice, fruit slice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Solid stout - well rounded and flavoursome.
