Bottle. Pours hazy reddish chestnut with small off-white head. Aroma is vague but with malt, brown sugar, anise, prunes, port wine, yeast and hints is peated malt. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter and faint salty. Body is oily with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of malt, brown sugar, caramel, syrup, port wine, prunes, anise, sweet liquorice and hints of campfire smoke and peated malt.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a tiny, off-white head. Very subtle aroma, slightly plummy perhaps with no real Belgian character. Rich, malty body, some rock sugar, dark, dried fruit, I don't really get any anise and again, the Belgian character simply isn't there. But does it's job as an Xmas beer, with sufficient hops to balance out the malts. Decent malty strongish brew. 141220
