Walk up to the bar and what do you ask for? A Beer, naturally. It doesn't always matter what it is, or what you want in this case. You want something light? We've got A Beer for you. You want something hop forward? We've got A Beer for you.

You just want to camp out on that bar stool and crush something? We've got A Beer for you. We're only marginally apologetic that it's not kettle soured with Mosaic & Amarillo hops. This is better. This is a straight forward, refreshing extra pale ale utilizing the newest varieties of German aroma hops (Hallertau Blanc & Mandarina Bavaria). Call it a session IPA if you need, call it a pale ale if you prefer, hell, it doesn't matter what you call it, what matters is that you stop talking about it and throw A Beer down yer gullet.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly head, touch hazy palish gold color, fruity bready aroma with hints of hay and shrubs and a light maltiness in the back, flavor of herbs and shrubs with a light maltiness in the back and a medium mellow bitterness. Nice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Yellow with a white head. Aroma has a bit of graininess, and some citric hops. Dry flavor, with a bit of graininess, crackery malt, and bitterish citric hops. Quite light-bodied.

16 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden yellow color, with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, grape, lemon/orange zest, light pine, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, grape, lemon/orange zest, light pine, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mandarin orange, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, grape, lemon/orange zest, pine, cracker, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero alcohol warming as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a very nice American pale ale. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Well, they have a beer called This is Not a Beer. They also have a beer called Beer Aged Barrel Ale. So why not have a beer called A Beer? Hopefully nobody has trademarked the word "beer." Draft at Churchkey. See pic for deScription with menu for admin verification, and so you know I am not making this up. Aroma of earthy fruit. Taste has subtle straw and citrus. Easy drinking.
