Almost clear gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry with a nice fine crispness. Nice light malts, smooth and with a mild creamy sweetness. Spicy orange hops, orange peel. A faint vodka and orange vibe. Pine. Touches of mango and lemon. Light semi dry finish. Bitterish peel linger. Drinks well under it’s abv, no heat, just that light vodka touch. Very nice.

On tap at the brewery. It pours a clear golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is very potent with grassy, onion, garlic and earthy hop notes. The flavor is a bit different up front with some light honey, orange and mint with the garlic and onion thing in the background and in the finish with the rather strong bitterness. Pretty light bodied for such a big beer though. Warming as it goes down. Clean. Ok, but I didn’t really care for the hop character.

Very good, I like this. The alcohols are well hidden for 11.2%.

Bomber from CraftShack. Looks orange in dim light, but gold in bright light. Transient white head. Aroma is fruit, but there’s a lot of confusion. Med + body. Flavor starts quite hoppy, shows some caramel support, but then it’s like solvent. Not in a totally bad way. Just that the heavy ABV doesn’t seem to work well with the massive amount of hop. With time passing on the palate adjusts. It gets even more incredibly hoppy, develops some juicy fruitiness, and all the heat is down the gullet. Maybe this is what happens when hopping goes beyond dank. Everyone who gave this a rating below 3.6 should think about going again and taking it slow. Or aging a couple decades and losing some nasal capabilities. :) Side note: burps good Second side note: rating is affected by initial take, but I tried to correct to the way it’s finishing. As the alcohol takes hold, it gets better for sure.
