On tap at Holy Craft Beer Bar, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a mahogany tinge and a small beige head. Aroma is rich, with intensely roasted malt, earthy hops, and some toasted notes. Flavour is dry and roasty, with lots of dry, toasted malt, dry earthiness, and actually potent hops. Balanced well, finishing dry. Very good—as good as this style can be.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 1 Apr 2023) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and citrus. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark bread, citrus, a touch of mint and a balanced roasty/citric bitterness. Medium body, dry. Tasty and solid stout, with a fresh hop character. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours black with a small white head. Aroma is dark malts, rich chocolate, caramel, light berry and pine notes. Light to medium body. Flavour is malty, dry, residual sweetness. Lots of cacao and chocolate, light coffee notes, and a beautiful hop profile, Simcoe really works here. Lots of pine, light berry notes, plum, foresty and herbal hop notes. Excellent and very drinkable.

Bottle from HoTM. It pours opaque black with a decent frothy light tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, chocolate cake, toasted pine, tunnocks teacakes, jammy berry, blackberry, blackcurrant and rocky road. The taste is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malt, chocolate torte, cacao, rocky road, plenty of berry, jammy fruits, plum, fig, blackberry, blackcurrant, charred oak, touch of peppery spice and coffee grounds with a toasty finish. Medium+ body and average carbonation. Flavourful, rounded and moreish. Tasty.

Bottle at home picked up from Cotterridge i think. An opaque black brown coloured pour with a lasting light tan head with some loose bubbles. Aroma is dusty roast, black liquorice and singed pine needles, Some ash and ruustic farmyard notes on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of bitter roast, little charcoal, burnt pine, light chalk. Palate is dusty, little thin, moderate carbonation, light oily. Some background citrus. Good stuff.
