Can 440ml (from Edinburgh, vintage 2021)
Opaque colour, tiny beige head. Cocoa, coffee, some sweetness in the nose. Full-bodied. A bit syrupy finish, otherwise cocoa, roasted malts and chocolate. Ageing has toned down the alcohol mainly.

Keg at Cloisters, sheltering from the rain. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate and liquorice. Taste adds stewed prunes, earthy notes and cocoa at the back. Boozy finish.

Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - jet black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate and chocolate cake and raisins. Taste - big chocolate cake note as per the description. Nougat and general nuttiness. Drinking chocolate. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy texture and light roastiness cleans the sweet finish. Overall - very nice.
