16oz can from Brewexport UK. A near black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Rich, sweet, roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel, coffee, fruity, rye taste and aroma. Hardly noticed the 12.6% ABV, went down so easily. Bloody delicious stuff.

Picked a 16 oz can off the shelf at The Cellar in Odessa last Saturday. A pleasant Friday evening on the back patio, break out the Java the Hutt, let’s have a taste. Pull the tab and lift into my Cowtown snifter. A caramel-mahogany body with a momentary, creamy head of dark brown foam. I’m left with a bare ring of steely bubbles but the carbonation is vigorous. A superb scent of roasty chocolate and grain. And the taste only goes beyond that. A bit of char, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, rye bread, strawberry jam and vanilla. The right amount of sweetness and slightly bitter at the finish. I am glad it is a pint can.
