Bottle shared at the pre GBBF chriso’s tasting day 1 06/08/2016. A dark brown coloured pour with a a halo of mid tan head. Aroma is earthy nutty choc, coco powder, little oak. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, woody oak, little vinous fruits blackberry. Palate is medium full, sticky, moderate carbonation, tangy fruits and dark choc linger.

Draught at EBF, 2/5/16.
Deep, cocoa-black body seems to be of low clarity with a strong tan head atop.
Dusty cocoa, dry, estery vanilla and old coffee grounds show strongly in the nose. Lots of fudge and chocolate as it warms and you inhale more, with a light alcohol/glue note on the end. Bourbon spiciness is buried pretty deeply and very little barrel character comes through, though perhaps some coconut mixing with the fudgey-toffeeish malts.
Rich, sweet, malty but with a strong ashy roast character to balance. Through the middle there’s a lot of cinnamon, transitioning in to a rather hot finish, replete with bourbon spiciness and rich, fudgey-chocolate malts. A lot going on, though it seems to go from intensely sweet malts to dry, ashy roast and earthy coffee grounds and then to heavy cinnamon spice, without much homogenity. Probably just a bit young, but certainly nothing to scoff at. A bit boozey, though. Thick, malty-sweet-soft texture with moderate carbonation.
