Five years ago we opened a little brewpub in the downstairs corner of The Fort George Building in Historic Downtown Astoria. Today we take up nearly and entire city-block: , three buildings, two breweries, two bars, an event space, and a canning line with all run by almost 50 hard-working employees.

With a beer in the plans for almost as long as we’ve been operational, this is our expression of what a brewery can accomplish in five short but intense years.

May we still be pleasing your palate in another five.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy golden with a lively off-white head. Fruity, sweet, hoppy nose. Medium body, a little fruit and yeast and then the massive hop kick sets in, quite some US hops leading to a bitter finish. 250113

bottle - Pours hazy with a huge head and heavy lacing. It smells mainly of bourbon and Belgian yeast. The flavor includes high bitterness, prominent bourbon, spicy Belgian yeast, florals in the background, and a long bitter finish. In my opinion the floral character is mostly buried by the bourbon and hops, so for a beer intending to feature roses they could have been more in the forefront. It works well otherwise though. Good brew.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy amber with a good creamy near-white head. Nose is all hop. What kind of hop? Floral, resin and citrus? Med body. Flavor is mildly roast caramel. But then there’s a lot of Belgian yeast/spice. Makes the hop seem very floral. The spice is significant. The hop is very significant. A bit peppery - Grains of Paradise? Finish is seductively Belgian. It’s fresh! Lush! Brilliant!

22 oz. bottle, pours a murky, opaque dark orangey amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma is extremely fruity, slight yeast, some barnyard and barrels. Flavour is very fruity, with loads of grapefruit, pineapple and mangos, some funk and hay, oak chips and lots of caramel malt. Pungent flavours - very well-balanced. Quite enjoyable.
