New Beer Distributors, NY 355ml ($2): Pours a light amber with barely any head. Aroma is bubblegum and nondescript dark fruits. Taste is slightly sweet, uncomplex, and light. Leaves some bockish aftertaste. Pretty uninteresting, and I don’t know that I would reach for this sooner than I would for a pale lager.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy orange-copper color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel and light vegetal malts. The flavor was sour, tangy and vegetal with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Medium caramel and fruit finish. Moderately full bodied. Eh.

12 ounce bottle from State Line. Pours a slight hazy bronze color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toasted malts and faint hops. The taste is toasted malts, citrus hops. Medium bodied. Decent.

Flavor is mostly malt; I didn’t pick up any hops; has a hint of some grass or something herbal, but it doesn’t stand out. Overall, not a bad beer, but not really good either.

From a bottle garnished from house. From looks, not a dunkel by any stretch; gold lager. Wew, first taste is quite strong and fer sure there’s no dunkler in this dunkler bock. Craemy off white head. Candy aroma. Some detectable co2 in there, just barely. Really comes across as bitter but more in a dull old hop and malt way. Finish is bitter medicine. Yes, quite alkified. Almost cloying at times.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours light amber with a slight, creamy beige head. Aroma is fruity hop over caramel. Med body +. Flavor is grassy! Fruity is very low key. There’s a nice roast malt backbone. For me this is more dry than not, and grassy is good. Nice.
