Purchased at Valkyrie Brewing in Dallas, WI; enjoyed at home on the last day of a WI based quarantine vacation. Appearance is pitch black with a billowy tan head. Aroma of light licorice, chocolate, lightly hoppy, overall pleasant. Taste is lightly spicy, licorice does come through a bit thanks to the light star anise, lightly sweet, dark chocolate notes. Overall enjoyable but nothing groundbreaking.

22oz bottle shared at tasting with Madison crew at Ryan’s. Unfiltered black brown body. Pretty nice sessionable black licorice Black IPA. Clean and minty, but the black licorice is over the top. Unique. OK. Decent.
