Tap at the Sacramento venue. Pours slightly ruddy amber with a creamy beige head. Aroma is malty. Med body; creamy carb. Flavor seems vinous, and rough roast malt. Not all that sweet, and there’s a touch of floral/fruit hop bitter, but it’s on the sweet side. Interesting.

Tap at the Rubicon. Pours clear brilliant coppery brown. thick sweet aroma. Med body/mild carb. It’ssweet, and just a little sticky at the finish. It’s pretty much smooth malt that’s medium roasted. Might be a touch of smoke, but if so it’s very light. There’s a very little astringent bitter in the finish. Drinks smooth like Newcastle brown, but with somewhat more flavor.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a cream colored head. Malt aroma with toffee/caramel. Toffee and light grain flavor with light dark frutiness. Medium bodied. Dark fruit and toffee lingers with light grain and light mineral notes.
