Whiplash decided to go all the way with this big dirty straight up Imperial. In their words – this ain’t no pastry stout! Ashy with a light sour note in the background and a dry, bitter finish.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, liquorice, soy sauce, some caramel, coffee. Flavour is sweet with a moderate roasty bitterness. Body is full. Bit too heavy on the liquorice and soy sauce, but otherwise fine Stout.

Superficial festival rating at Brew Festival, Oslo 2022. Saturday session 2. Dark amber, almost black body under a small tan head. Aroma has dark roasted malt, dry fruit and coffee. Taste is quite smooth with dark roasted malt, coffee, dry fruit and waring alcohol. Fine body and same aftertaste. Quite straight forward but well made

On tap at Brew Festival. It’s a clear dark brown beer with a dense beige head leaving lacing. The aroma has sourish dark malts and dark dried fruit, feeling rather one dimensional. It’s sweet and lightly sour on the palate, nicely carbonated, with a sourish dark malt driven flavor. Lots of dried fruit along with generic fresh fruit, some perfumed and flowery notes. Medium length finish. A bit strange this one. 220430
