On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear dark amber with medium beige head. Ginger aroma, light body, low carbonation, and big bubble lacing. Taste is spices (mostly off ginger). Worst beer of the week.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy tan head. The aroma was tangy with light cocoa, a touch of wood and light vanilla. The flavor was bitter, malty, toasty and semi-sweet with notes of vanilla, wood and smoke. The beer turns a bit dry towards the finish with notes of wood and vanilla lingering. Fairly full bodied. Interesting.

On the blackboard this Sleigh Wrecker was listed as 7%. A little sweet in the aroma, no indication of the 7% that lurks within. Very dark but you can see a reddish brown hue thru it, not hazy and seems filtered. Oh yes, quite an alky impact. About as much as the 7% would indicate. Alky is not hidden, each sip provides a little more bitter on the back of the throat. Eventually it almost developes a citrus hop bite that can be identified with many IPA. Very little carbonation. Overall not a bad beer but more bitter than my lager taste buds can appreciate. On the finish it has a bitter medicinal linger that hangs for a while.
