We’re proud to expand the impact of Friends Giving this year, both in our local communities as well as down in the greater DC area. We teamed up once again with our good friends at Tonewood, Cape May, Urban Village, and--newly added this year Source Brewing - - to brew a new version of our "pot-luck style IPA" at our brewery, with all of the proceeds going to support local charities. Friends Giving is an initiative of our CollaborAid charity, which has the mission of turning creativity, camaraderie, community, and collaboration into support for feeding local families struggling to put food on the table.
“Pot-luck style" means each brewer showed up to the brew day with their own selection of hops to contribute; which for this brew ended up including Idaho 7, Idaho 7 Cryo, Sabro, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cashmere, and Citra.
We’re also excited to announce a new Virginia branch of Friends Giving this year....with our friends at Solace Brewing hosting their own Friends Giving brew with us, Ocelot, Old Ox, and Crooked Run.
For 2020 we’re partnering with 4 awesome local organizations: Cathedral Kitchen, Virtua Mobile Farmers Market, Philabundance, and The Community FoodBank of NJ to help those in need right here in the New Jersey and the Philadelphia area that we call home.
Proceeds from the Virginia/DC Area Friends Giving will go to Loudon Hunger Relief, a charity fighting food insecurity in communities local to Solace, Ocelot, Crooked Run and Old Ox.
