Can from wchesser, thanks: pours hazy light orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus fruitiness, lacto, a couple fleurs. Taste is on the sour candy end of things. Light sweetness, moderate sourness. Definitely this is more a sour IPA than a saison. Indeed there are not really many saison traits.

The can says Hoppy Brett Saison. Pours an unclear, light orange color, with a medium, fizzy, white head. The aroma is sharp lime, apricot, orange zest, dry grass, and some mild musty attic. Sweet and very citrusy, with a bit of a tart, dry finish. Light to medium body, with a very acidic palate, and somehow still quite smooth and creamy. Quite pleasant, refreshing, and interesting.

Can - the packaging bills this as a hoppy Saison, and based on that promise alone, I'm highly disappointed - something this sour should be marketed as such on the packaging - there were no indicators of the massive lactic sourness awaiting me in this one - putting that aside, the present hoppiness works surprisingly well with the sharply acidic sourness - whatever complexity might be added by the brett or whatever in this is supposed to be a Saison is swallowed up in these other characteristics - as a dry-hopped sour, it's okay, but suffers from that particular overly-assertive and imbalanced sourness that so many American palates now crave - but as noted above, their labeling creates a certain expectation, and the reality actually kind of pissed me off - label it as a sour, goddamn it!
