500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear brown merest white head. Aromas of metallic toffee, red fruit. Sweet, mineral taste, light fruits, light twiggy bitterness. Could be a boring British bitter!

Talk about a blast from the past. In times when foreign beer was as scarce as hens teeth in Be, this used to be one of the exceptions. Now, all but gone - not so in the Netherlands, ’t would seem. Dense, stable off-white head over clear, amber to chestnut beer. Cookes, caramel, parsley, toasted, bit liqueurish nose. Toast, wood/undergrowth, chestnuts, earthy, leaves. Light body, if quite slick. Not much of an aftertaste. Actually not all that bad. Just a bit... dusty in character?

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks troubles. Clear deep amber. Aroma of cardboard, malt, caramel, a nutty note and metallic hint. Sweetish flavor with malt, cardboard, a bit of caramel, a toasty and nutty note and a drier finish. Light to medium-bodied.

One of the more mass-marketed Alts, also sold in cans. Light beige, creamy, thin but relatively stable head, colour a reddish bronze with orange glow, clear. Malty aroma, hazelnuts, bitter chocolate, pear, dates, banana, nutmeg, leather, peat, cloves, grapefruit, pepper. Malty taste, dried fruits, bitterish, smooth and bit resinous mouthfeel, tonic water-like bitterness in the finish, long and dry. Nice.
