Draft at Brewdog Outpost, Rotterdam. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, molasses, chocolate. The flavour is strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, sugary, chocolate, liquorice, vanilla palate. Over medium bodied with soft carbonation. The first sip was nice, but ultimately it’s a massive sugar bomb and quickly became rather sickly. Struggled to finish my 25cl glass.

Keg at BrewDog Camden, 01/11/23. Pitch black topped with a khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is dark chocolate shavings, dark malt base, molasses, trace of coffee bean. Taste comprises chocolate cup cakes, molasses, booze tunes, roast malts, light charr, brown sugar melt, toffee fudge, coffee beans, vanilla essence. Full bodied, light slick oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Best beer of this Collabfest for me.

Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush, London. A black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Sweet, roasty, malty, chocolate, caramel taste/aroma. A decent imperial stout.

Keg at Brewdog Doghouse Edinburgh. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of chickadee and treacle. Taste is boozy, chocolate and dark fruit. Rich finish.

Tap at Brewdog Canary wharf. A jet black coloured pour with a a halo go mid tan head. Aroma is semi sweet, chocolate cake batter, cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, sponge, faint jammy fruits. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sticky brown sugars, chocolate sponge, peanut brittle, finishing with warming alcohol. Some burnt sugars. Palate is medium sweet and sticky, fine carbonation. Good.

On tap at BrewDog Liverpool, pours jet black with a small dark brown, espresso-like head. Aroma is full of cocoa, moderate roast, and dark sugars in good cohesion. Flavour is sweeter than the nose suggested, with lots of dark sugars, some cocoa, medium roast, vanilla, and some caramel. Very rich and cohesive, oily smooth on the palate. Excellent.
