Cask at the Strugglers Inn, Lincoln. Deep amber to black colour with a pale tam head. Aroma and taste are malty sweet and caramel. Light spice. Light body.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a dark ruby with minimal cream head. Roast malts to the fore in the aroma, plus ginger and treacle. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture and plenty of lactose, A good dollop of roasted malts too with traces of toffee, ginger and parkin. Some bitterness in the finish. This is a decent milk stout.
