An extra special version of Railway Porter aged on Brettanomyces wild yeast for a minimum of nine months. Smooth and dry with a little bit of funk, and subtle dark fruit and red-berry flavours.

Released every Autumn and Winter on draught only, our Derailed Porter went down a storm in the ‘Golden Pint’ round-ups of late 2017, especially on cask.

We’ll see you down the pub in Autumn.

Cask at the Rake, 20/02/14. Mid black with a tan head that retains as a swirl. Nose is bitter roast, dark chocolate, subtle brett, faint liqourice, tar, treacle toffee, light smoke. Taste comprises bitter roast, tangy dark berry fruit, brett tinged, earthy, liqourice, touch of aniseed, hoppy backnotes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, drying finale. Solid porter, the brett is subtle enough and gives for a nice tarte edge. Post beer burp - plastic notes, although that must be me not the beer !

Cask at the Rake - London. Pours rich brown with a thick, beige cream head. Definitely some brett funk in the nose with nips of baking cocoa. Light sweet flavor with up-front brett funk, then rich baking cocoa, mild roast, earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly drying to finish with well-toasted bread, light ashy roast, tobacco, more prominent bittersweet baking cocoa now and less punchy brett twang. Very nicely integrated.

Cask at the rake borough. Opaque dark brown black pour with a nice thick medium tan head that sticks around. Aroma is medium tart cherry with some other berry fruits and touch of charred wood. Distinct btett Character in the nose. Flavour is light berry fruits, touch musty Funk. Finish is rounded out with some soft roast and wood. Flavour has a little oyster sea water thing going on. Light funk and roast persists in the mouth. Palate is medium with touch of tang. Good stuff.
