Flavours of dessicated coconut, sultanas, fruit cake, cocoa, coffee. Distinctive brew. Long, rich dried fruit fuelled finish. Very tasty.

Bottle picked up from Mother Kellys Bottle Shop, Homerton, consumed at home Sunday 9th October 2016 whilst cooking, spicy Butternut Squash Soup and a Chilli Con Carne. Pours black though held against the light it’s possibly very dark brown with beige head. Mmhhh.... We love this, there is lots of dark bitter chocolate and I reckon that the Tonka beans have more of a supporting role here than the Lervig 3 Bean Stout, but they do really come through, there is a something of a vanilla edge but it’s mostly good quality cocoa . Soft and smooth a really nice cocoa edge, lovely. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov17 4.1

Opaque dark brown colour, good two finger frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing. Coconut nose, aroma coconut, roasted malts, cocoa, light vanilla, tonka beans. Smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla, almond, retronasal coconut. Dry bittersweet aftertaste, dark chocolate, espresso, spices, medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, very interesting and tasty.

Bottled 330ml (AbM)
Dark brown color, medium-sized creamy off-white head and some lace. Coconut and cocoa aroma with toasted notes. Medium to full-bodied, smooth palate. Strong coconut and almond, vanilla flavor with evident cocoa notes. Sweetish. Backing alcohol and hops. Aftertaste is oily and roasted. Tasty, especially if you like coconut.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours pitch black with a thick light brown head. Aroma of cocoa nibs, vanilla, coffee, hints of roastiness, almond, ciinnamon and spices. Taste is smooth, slightly sweetish and heavy with vanilla, cocoa, chocolate and tonka notes, hints of roastiness. Finish is smooth, slick and slightly roasty with loads of cocoa, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Pretty smooth and tasty, reminds me of Lervig’s 3 Bean Stout.

Opaque black - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Palate is light, mildly dry. Decent fine carbonation. Smooth dark chocolate and vanilla. A perfumey floralness. Modest tangy fruits. Smooth semi dry finish. Interesting beer, doesn’t fully hang together for me but it’s engaging.
