Tap at Pizza Port Solana Beach. Pours clear, bright good with a fine, creamy white head. Dry, doughy white bread in the nose, some hay. Light to medium sweet flavor with further dry and subtly doughy bread, touches of bitter hay and cereal. Medium bodied with average, spritzy carbonation. Clean finish, not too bitter, faint grapefruit, mild citrus rind, dry pale malts. Very drinkable stuff. Decent depth.

On tap at the Carlsbad brewpub. Clear dark golden in color, white head on top. A bit weak aroma, mostly hoppy, with pine cones and a little malty touch. Dry, medium bodied mouthfeel with flavors of pale malts and pine cones. Some bitterness and generic fruityness. Not very interesting this one, but quenching. 130813
