Bottle. An oily dark brown beer with some dark beige bubbles around the rim. The aroma is a bit weak for a Bomb! beer, but sure pleasant. Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, some alcohol and a vague hint of vanilla. Brown sugar notes. It's full-bodied, warming and softly carbonated, with a touch of bitterness. Brown sugar, coffee, chocolate, hints of vanilla. Lasting finish. A very nice beer indeed, but for a Bomb it's sort of boring. 190406

Bottle from Biererei, bought in August 2018. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark malt, soy sauce, dried fruit and some chocolate. The same in the taste. Not much vanilla in this one. The alcohol was well hidden.

Thick, oily, a bit cloying. Roast, sugar, licorice, a bit of vanilla, booze. The sweet part of a Bomb, I suppose. 3.7

Bottle picked up from Beer Gonzo Webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry. Consumed at Isobel and Jude's Builth Wells, Powys Wales on Saturday 16th February 2019 in the company of Dad, Pauline, Jude and Baz, even Isobel eventually tried a little of all. Pours black the vanilla is soft, creamy and despite the vanilla showing its still dominated by the chocolate. Vanilla is the favourite of Dad, Fin, Jude, Pauline, Isobel and Loz. The vanilla, as expected also worked well in a blend of all four that Jude did to recreate the BOMB.

Bottle at home. Thick black with dark brown head. Roast, licorice, molasses, earthy vanilla, chocolate, sweet vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting, brown sugar. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Very sweet but quite nice, and better than the chili and cocoa deconstructed ones I bough at the same time.

(355ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours pitch black with a small pale tan head. Notes of sweet dark malt with a definite caramel and dark syrup quality, sweet chocolate, lots of vanilla, touches of umami, roast is pretty soft and retreating. The sweetness rolls through the sip and lingers into the aftertaste. Medium bodied and softly carbonated. A nice stout, but the vanilla version is a lot sweeter and less roasty than the 'base' and shows how much the adjunct combination does to make up Bomb's balance.

Black with thin creamy head. Aroma and flavour have some sweet candied vanilla. Nice warmth of alcohol. Bittersweet roasted malts come through in the aftertaste.
