Pounder can for a buck off the clearance rack. Can't read the blurred date code: 012721? From 2021? No, can't be. WTF? Also there is no description on the can, or in their publicity for this beer, to tell me what makes it different than the rest of the DDH series. Yea, its just a big fat IPA, that's all. Oh yea, its hazy too. Color is as pictured. Decent white head. Nose is mild fruity hop perfume. Yes, terribly hop bitter but there seems to be a little fruit on the back end. Bitterness rides on the end of each gulp, and in the middle the bitter hops start to build. Big nasty undesirable bitterness makes this hard to take, just like any other terribly on style IPA out there. Gottah be a gahzillion of them and they all practically taste the same. Decent amount of cutting carbonation in there keeps it from being totally mouthcoating muck. It also does not exhibit any of that astringent rookie brewer attitude as well. I've tasted more ruder IPA and this fruity thing in the background keeps me thinking; at least its not the bottom of the barrel for a macro pale lager lover.
