OK, from a can I pour this into a big steelers mug and it does look like and smell like root beer, go figger. I'm gonna try to watch that steeler game on sunday at 4. First taste of this, tho, reminds me it's a beer, a flavored beer. I think its mild unsweetened root at first but then I start to think this is penetrating my brain. Look on the label and yes, it is stronger than your fathers root beer, it just doesn't taste like it. The total sweetness on the root is missing and you are left with unsweetened root. But: Its plain old lager, which isn't bad in itself, and root beer flavoring mired in. They say it's sweet. I would say no. This is not a soda pop, its a beer. You know it when you drink it. If you are looking for a mug of root beer, or that other stupid brew 'not your fathers root beer' ; you'll be keenly disappointed. There, you have it.
