Black with a large foamy tan head that left excellent lacing. Bitter with coffee, vanilla and a hint of smoke. Long finish. Medium body.

Tap. Root beer eye. Smell even has shades of a root beer nose. Taste is smoother and rather even. Some charcoal in there? I'm liking this, especially after all the IPA I had today. Maybe some odd spice feel to this from the maple. Nuts can't really be detected. Interesting and unique, better than most nut based porters, more balanced. Not bad. Barmaid said there was bacon in it but I cant feel that.
