Lightly hazy, golden-amber with a frothy-bubbly off-white head, decent stay and some thick creamy-bubbly lacing. Citrus nose with grapefruit zest with a caramel malt base. Dries citrus zest in the taste, but not too bitter. Getting a little hazier as it pours. Quite smooth, and alcohol well-hidden for 10% ABV - a nice Double IPA.

Ever so slightly hazy blonde, golden and slightly bronzey coloured body with a very thick, nice five to six centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, bitter resin, flowers, alcohol, grass, hay and some curacao and light sweetness from some fruits (melons and mangoes). Medium to Full-bodied; Strong, rich malty profile at first with a decidedly sweet and syrupy bite, but not overwhelming or cloying, that does show resin, oranges and some caster sugar with a slight burn from the alcohol near the end, but fairly contained, given ten per cent - the malt is balanced nicely and there is some fruity complexities as well, towards the end. Aftertaste is rich with the sweet, fruity and especially malty characteristics up front, with some alcohol astringency and crisp dry notes towards the end, but plenty of complexity for the style. Overall, a very nice, dare I say, elegant beer for the style, with a bunch of alcohol of course, but hidden to some degree, while showing some nice fruity elements and a soft, sweetness that makes this fairly drinkable, and dry. Very nice to sample all the 'down' here - good to have fresh and recommended! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Joe Canal's in Lawrenceville, New Jersey on 21-December-2020 for US$3,49 (Great Deal!) sampled at my house here in Washington on 19-January-2021.

Tap pour at Craft Brew Race, Worcester. Appearance is yellow-light brown with inch of off-white head, no discernible sparkle. Aroma is dominant cracker, hops are fairly buried. Taste is a sweetness--certainly malty but a floral/fruitiness too. Vaguely caramelly. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not what I'm looking for in a double. To be fair, server said they aim for it to be on the maltier side to cover the alcohol bite, and it does that, and he also said this keg was on the malty side, so this may be slightly unrepresentative but this does go a little overboard to the malty side in terms of balance. More like an Imperial Pale Ale, though I don't think that's an actual style. Though give RateBeer time and it will be... Extra points for the story behind the name--eccentric female neighbor to the original brewery location didn't always care for the odors emanating from the brewery but she liked the smell of this one.

Smooth malts, little creamy sweetness. Trace of vanilla. Orange peel, slighty bitter. Smooth semi dry finish. Not bad.
