The Hamburg Style Lager Prototyp was the first of a kind in Germany and turned into a „Prototype“ for a whole new Beerstyle in Germany. The unique and fruity flavor of the Prototyp is backed by dry-hopping the beer. After primary fermentation it is matured for seven weeks with two different aroma hops. The Prototyp is smooth and refreshing like a lager beer and has the fruitiness of a Pale Ale. Naturally - unfiltered and not pasteurized.

Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a teku glass. Slightly unclear medium golden, fair frothy white head, good retention, good lacing; fruity aroma, sweet malt, peach, lime, grass; smooth taste, medium sweet and bitter, malty, grain, peach, lime, orange; lingering fruity sweetbitter aftertaste, malty notes; oily to watery texture; easy to drink, well-made, a gentle giant, really good.

Frothy white head stayed on an unclear, slowly carbonating, light golden body. Hoppy, pithy, citrus aroma. Medium bodied, sharp on the palate with a light chean back. Tastes is much like the aroma with light hoppy citrus, fruity, peach & confectionery tastes. Nice one.

Flasche 0,33l: Helles Gold, deutliche Trübung, sehr kräftiger stabiler mittelporiger Schaum; frische + sehr fruchtige Nase, leichte fruchtige Süße, Zitrusnoten, Limetten, grasig/floral, frische Hopfennoten, grünes Malz, Getreide, etwas Karamell, dezente Hefearomen, recht leicht; frischer + fruchtiger Körper, fruchtige Süße, süße Zitrusnoten, Zitronenlimonade, Limetten, frische Hopfennoten, Malz, Getreide, etwas Karamell, sehr cremig, sehr kräftige Kohlensäure, leichte Hefearomen; angenehmer malzig-fruchtiger Nachgang

A reasonable beer for the style. I’m just not a huge fan of the hop combination used. Though it’s intensity and balance is nice. Barley and Malt Hamburg (may 2019 3.3) Bottle again from craftbier shop advent. It’s solid, good hop aroma.

Fles 33cl bij Elbgold in Hamburg. Bloemig, licht, citrus, hoppig, fruitig, abrikoos, redelijk koolzuur, fris. (7-4-2019).
