Can took a hit in transit but intact at least! Nice roasted malty and solid hoppy combo, ashy earthy roasted malts, charred brown sugar, piney hoppy tropical citrusy notes coming through, medium body, roasted malty and assertive hoppy finish. Lovely.

Weich hopfiger, intensiv röstiger Antrunk. Voluminöser Mittelteil, Kaffee, die Hopfigkeit steigt deutlich an. Würzig, langer Abgang, lecker! 10/11/12/12/9/12

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 21B: black IPA). Can 50 cl - Batch 31.08.2025 (BB: 31.08.2025). AROMA: medium to medium-high hop notes (grapefruit, slight cantaloup melon). low roasted malt aroma with slight coffee character. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium-low light brown head with low retention. TASTE: initial medium hop flavor (melon, slight floral - lupulin) followed by a balanced medium roasted malt (coffee). medium-high bitterness with a semi-dry to dry and roasted finish that persists. MOUTHFEEL: medium-low body with medium-low to low carbonation. OVERALL: a nice balanced black IPA. it only needs a bit more carbonation.
