Tap at Stadbrouwhuis, Leiden: Opaque black coloured brew with beige foam head. Sweet taste, little bitterness and burn of alcohol. Hints of dark chocolate, roasted malts, plenty vanilla, sugary biscuit and marshmallow. The first tick from Delaware.

473ml can. Jet black colour with slightly late awakening, average, thick, frothy to creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, dark brown head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of cocoa, dry cocoa, marshmallow, vanilla, a touch of cinnamon, brown sugar. Taste is bitter, roasty dark malty and bitter hoppy, slightly sweet, chocolately, dark malty, notes of cocoa, dark chocolate, toffee, marshmallow, vanilla, some espresso. Viscous texture, smooth and passably soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Well hidden alcohol, appropriate sweetness - not exactly my cup of tea.

Draft at Tap99. pours almost black with a dark tan head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, cream vanilla, very very sweet.
