Bottle 330ml. [ As By The Horns Flapper Double IPA ].Unclear - hazy matt medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, sweet malt, candy - biscuit - herbal, light orange. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150806] 6-3-6-3-12

330ml bottle. Cloudy, minimally grey-ish, orangey golden colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Sweaty, resinous and slightly waxy, hoppy aroma, caramel malty background, sweet-ish notes of rotten tropical fruit, minimally brett-like hints of bubblegum and pepper, sugary hints of mandarine. Taste is resinous hoppy, notes of pineapple, grapefruit, papery bitterness, a peppery touch, caramel malty basis; slightly sticky palate. Some strange flavours in aroma and taste, rather muggy overall.

330m bottle from Ales By Mail. Pours clear amber, with a faint haze and a nice tight white head. Aromas are a heady mix of resin and marmalade. Some crystal malt. Light floral notes too. Taste is rich, bitter, with an oily texture. Slightly sticky finish, but a good DIPA.

Bottle shared at Leightons pad. Clear bright orange / amber coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is spicy pine hop, sweet orange, bit of resin, caramel. Flavour is composed of sticky resin spicy, pine, resin, orange peel. Bitter hop, bit metallic. Palate is medium, slightly sticky, dryish finish. Lingering bitter plastic and a bit of solvent.

Bottle, split at Leighton Hights - thanks to he the governor of the Bespin system, 20/04/15. Clear golden amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, light plastic, peach melba, a touch harsh. Taste comprises big mineral notes, tangy tropicana, caramel malt forward, booze tunes a dancing, bitter citric tones. Medium + body, fine carbonation, sweet licks in the close with a hop underlay. Drinkable but low end for style.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at We Brought Beer. Pours clear, deep gold with a frothy off-white head. The nose has some heavy malts, ripe orange, minerals. Medium sweet flavor with ripe citrus fruits, bitter pine, earth, rind, some ham, faint smoke. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Finishes warm and sticky, quite bitter, with grass, some resinous pine, toasted grains, ripe orange. So so. Not much grace.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours clear orange-amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, fragrant, tangerine, clementine, toffee and candied peel. The taste is bitter, pithy citrus, orange rind, some astringency, booze, marmalade, syrupy, grainy and soap with a dry, citrusy finish. Medium body and oily mouth-feel. A touch soapy, but all together not bad.

Bottle from Oddbins, London Bridge shared with the Mrs - amber coloured pour thin white head. Medium sweet malty and fruity aroma and taste, some resin and herbal hop notes, caramel, very bitter, but unfortunately a prominent jarring sickly medicinal taste at the back of the throat which ruined this. Ended up being a drain pour, must of been unlucky on this batch. Noted for re-rate.
