440ml can. Pours jet black with no head. Aroma is raisin, caramel and warm cinnamon. Taste has raisin and cinnamon throughout, slightly raw tasting. Some roast on the finish.

Keg at BD Clerkenwell, 30/10/24. Mixed bag reviews for this one ... mine falling towards the lower end. Murked up extremely dark mahogany brown with a tan cap that clears to the edge. Nose is stewed fruits, vinous notes, tangy, bitter sweet, dark malts. Taste comprises tarte and tangy fruit esters, herb, sharp twang, earthy, light roast. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not good ... tangy and muddled ... hard to take on board too much ... TFFT.

Can from The Green Goddess, Blackheath Royal Standard. Black pour with a tan head. Aromas of cappuccino, caramel, cinnamon buns, toffee, brown sugar. Flavours of caramel, lots of cinnamon, toffee, cola. Long malty bitter linger. Bit of a mishmash taste wise.

Keg at The Rutland Arms, Sheffield. Pours jet black with a thin tan head. Aromas of cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is spicy, chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Warming spicy finish. Another adjunct stout I didn't want to like, but warmed on me.

On cask at Green Goddess, Blackheath - Black oil, tan head. Big discussion what it is like. Benadryl? Liquorice? Loads of rooty black flavours, cinnamon, vanilla, big bold mouthfeel. FML. Good. If you are near it, try it.
